About Me

 Katie is a stay-at-home mom of three beautiful little girls. Her oldest was born in 2006 and her youngest, was born in 2011. She met their dad while in High School, but they didn't start dating until a long time after. After her youngest daughter was born she decided that it would be in the kids best interest, if she stayed home to care for them. She has always had a love for cooking, baking, arts and crafts and DIY projects. She says that she owes most of that, to her mother and grandmother. When she was little, they  didn't have a lot of money, so sometimes she  improvised with what they had on hand. She was upcycling and DIY'ing before it was considered "cool".  \Her grandmother is the one who always hosts the big holiday events at her house. You will never have to guess where she will be on Easter, Thanksgiving or Christmas. Everyone knows she's at grandma Sophie's! 

When she was little, she would love to watch her mom cook. She admits "I never really realized just how difficult it could be, to raise four children, work a full time job, spend quality time with her kids, and still put a home cooked meal on the table every night. I didn't know...until I had my own family. I admire that in my mother, and I strive to do the same for my family". 

She understands how difficult it can be to find healthy meals for picky eaters that her family will actually enjoy. Especially when there are allegies in the family. She strives to provide healthy, fun, & easy meals, that the whole family can enjoy.  She started baking in 2011, when she was pregnant with her youngest. She had two children who weren't school-age yet and they had read through every book in the house, all the craft projects she could think of, so she turned to baking. She wasn't looking to do anything fantastic, she just wanted her kids in the kitchen. Learning. Learning about recipes, measurements and where the food comes from. She would let the girls help where they could. Whether it was cracking eggs, measuring ingredients, or mixing, She tried to get them in the kitchen as often as possible. To this day, they are always asking to help cook dinner or to bake. She hopes that want to create, continues throughout their lifetime, and they can learn from her, as much as she has learned from them.

 In November of 2011, she created Katie's Lit'l Kupkakes. She started getting orders for graduations, birthdays, "just- because", holidays, and catered a Wedding in 2012.

To this day, she continues to do cupcakes from her home. She has spent quite a few hours researching recipes online, magazines and in cookbooks. She has a Pinterest page full of goodies (crafts, party ideas, recipes, DIY's, cleaning tips ). Some of the recipes or cleaning tips she tested, were total flops, and some were pretty  fantastic.  That, and her love for cooking is what landed her here. She thought, why NOT create a place where people can go to get a pin tested FOR THEM? Why not create a place where she can post recipes for the world,  that she trusts, and  LOVES!? Why not create a place where moms (or dads) can come to find cleaning tips & tricks, DIY's, homemade goodies, arts and crafts etc. Why not write about the crazy world of  motherhood? Why not share that? So, she is.
